The University of Tokyo Hospital | Clinical application for development of therapy for rare disease
Based on clinical experience, I founded Clinical Application for development of therapy for rare disease, University of Tokyo Hospital in 2023. It has led physician-driven intraocular lymphoma trials and AI COVID-19 prediction, now focusing on real-time sepsis diagnosis.
Real-time early warning detection system for sepsis
It is said that one person dies from sepsis every three seconds worldwide. Over 11 million people die annually—more than from cancer—making it a major global health crisis. With our new system, early sepsis detection enables established treatments that can save patients’ lives.
If detected early, sepsis can be treated effectively, saving lives that would otherwise be lost. Our system has the potential to rescue patients worldwide, not only in Japan, and to revolutionize healthcare in regions burdened by infectious diseases.
